No Burn Areas and Alternatives to Outdoor Burning
Residential outdoor burning has been banned within the city limits of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater for nearly 10 years. Effective January 1, 2001, state law permanently bans residential burning of yard debris and land-clearing in the cities and their urban growth areas (UGAs) in ORCAA's jurisdiction listed below. The table includes maps developed by the state Department of Ecology which show the areas where the permanent bans will occur in ORCAA's region as well as alternatives available in each area. For more information about alternatives to outdoor burning in your area, contact your local Solid Waste Department
